Knowing Doc Robbins

For years, Doc Robbins has been working at bringing a broad selection of live music to the DFW area. With a passion for music and a commitment for excellence, he has worked tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience for his fans. For years Doc Robbins has performed in bands. However, Doc really enjoys solo events. Moreover, he love sponsoring OPEN MIC events, giving him the opportunities to bond with fellow musicians and their audience.

Doc Robbins' OPEN MIC Events

Much of Doc's musical learning experiences have been related to OPEN MIC Events. An Open Mic event is where a host musician sponsors an event where fellow musicians can perform either to gain experience or market their skill set. Doc Robbins enjoys giving his colleages & upcoming amateurs the change to perform in a controlled environment with lots of support. That is Doc in the lower left hand corner shaking hands. Everyone else you see are either Musicians or their supporters. Doc provides all the amps & a compact Drum set.

His story

His musical birth in the 60s enabled Doc Robbins to enjoy the music from all times & genres. Music from the clock radio, 45s, LPs, CDs, TV, & streaming have been & are the sources of his listening pleasures. Moreover, when he has the time, he takes in a concert or 2. Thus, the cover songs he performs are the songs you & he grew up with: foot tapping & sing along songs.

Skill and Artistry are important. However, equipment & products Doc Robbins uses are critical to his venue's success and patrons enjoyment.

For outdoor or large auditorium venues Doc utilizes up to 5000 watts of available amplification. Doc plays Bass Guitar and sings along with accompanying tracks of various instruments. The bass amps (2) are on the far left and right sides. In the center are the two tall speakers that provide the outputs for the supporting instruments like 6 /12 string guitars, keyboards, harmonica, & drums. The public address (PA) speakers are on the left and right sides but are not shown. We utilize various wireless devices so to keep the floor wiring to a minimum.

For smaller venues, like restaurants, & private parties. Doc uses a 500-watt system with 4 amplifiers and a PA system. (Not Shown). If the venue does not provide lighting, Doc can use his own lighting equipment.

Doc has several 4 & 5 string bass guitars, as well as 6/12 string electric & acoustic guitars. He also has two keyboards and a drum set ready to go.
